Railway Project in navi mumbai by cidco

If anything can be called the lifeline of Navi Mumbai, it's the city's suburban railway network. It's a unique rail project involving CIDCO and Indian Railways, with CIDCO and Railways sharing the expenditure on a ratio of 67:33. Covering a length of 200 km and occupying 900 hectares of land, the network is planned with 6 separate corridors and 30 stations.

Belapur / Nerul- Seawood - Uran Railway Corridor 

The Railway Project between Nerul and Belapur - Seawood - Uran was approved by Ministry of Railways and CIDCO Board and the work on the project began in July 1997. However, due to various unforeseen reasons, the work was delayed and hence stalled, until recently when the project was revived after the tripartite agreement between Railways, CIDCO and Govt. of Maharashtra was executed on 29.07.2011. The total length of the corridor is 27 km and consists of 10 stations; 4 major bridges; 5 ROBs; Provisions are made for one arm of the railway line to go to Belapur station from Sagarsangam (Kille).

Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik among 10 cities to become 'Smart City'

The Maharashtra government has selected Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad among 10 other cities in the state under the 'Smart City' project, Chief MinisterDevendra Fadnavis said today.
Briefing about the selection, Fadnavis said in theLegislative Assembly that a high-level committee under chairmanship of Chief Secretary was set up and Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Pune-Pimpri Chinchwad, Amravati, Solapur, Nagpur, Kalyan Dombivali, Aurangabad, Nashikand Thane have been selected.
